The One With Incredible Light

Something happens when two creatives get together, and it’s kind of magical. A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of photographing this wonderful soul. We created images that are fresh and full of life for her new site Vital Ethos. Her session was a little over an hour, but we left still with so many creative ideas in our minds and hearts. I can’t wait to work with you again, Sasha.

The One Where We Made a Dance Film

Working with dancers is a dream. I love watching how they can move and create shapes with just their body. Taking images of their craft gives me a sense of pride knowing that I am capturing something that only lasts a split second in time and I am preserving that emotion and feeling forever.

During the pandemic I decided to hone my film making craft and started making short portrait films of my children, their distance learning days of the pandemic, other peoples children, and life events, like buying a new home.

A few months ago, I decided to make a short dance film. I contacted Shea (whom I had already shot before) and thank goodness she said yes! This was her first time choreographing a full song, but I wouldn’t have guessed it. Her professionalism and work ethic are astounding and I am so happy that we made something that we could be proud of.

It’s pretty cool to see a vision become a reality.

…And then of course I wouldn’t let her go without getting some still images!

I will be shooting again at this location, schedule your session for images like these.

The One With The New House

They said “Yes to the address!” How cute is this couple and this house?! It’s such a blessing to know that during these challenging times people are still growing, loving, and trying to make the best out of what life is giving us right now. I am forever grateful that they chose me to capture this sweet moment. I know that they will create not just a home but a wonderful life full of beautiful memories together. Congratulations to Dave & Shay!

The One With All The Graduates of 2020!

To all the graduates of 2020! This is just the beginning. These are trying times but…keep trying. The world needs bright minds and great leaders. After meeting these young people, I am more hopeful that the future is going to be just fine. Take a look at the graduates of 2020…I am honored to have photographed them.

The One With Brynn's Headshots

Capturing Brynn’s light was easy…she shines where ever she goes. We had fun making honking noises, jumping, and just being silly. She’s a beautiful girl inside and out. I know that there are big things in her future.

The One Where Willow Danced In The Street

Doc Martens and skirts…her mother and I joked about growing up in the 90’s and having this exact look! I loved it back then and I still love it, especially when it’s worn with dance attire. I mean how cute are boots with a leotard?

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of doing a session with this sweet face. It was probably the hottest day on record and she rocked the entire session without one complaint. She even ended the session with some dancing. I think I passed out from heat exhaustion just watching her.

The One Where The Class of 2020 Was Sheltered In Place

Class of 2020 I feel for you, and I am sorry. These times are strange and as you face the new world my hope is that you don’t lose hope. That you still see good and strive to make this crazy planet a better, safer world. I love you all!

Skylar was my last (and only) Senior Session of 2020. We had a great time even though it was cold! I love that she was up for whatever crazy idea I had…”Skylar want to climb that tree? Hey, why don’t you get in that super cold water and splash around. I have some sparklers left over from 4th of July… “

She’s was great and did a fantastic job on her senior session, Cal Berkeley is lucky to have her!

The One With All The Boxes - 2019

This year for my holiday mini’s I decided to go with a current trend in the photo world…Inside The Box Photography! And I am so glad that I did…just look at all the fun we had. I am super grateful that these families choose me this year for their Christmas cards.

The One In The Historic City Hall

Last weekend I had the honor of photographing a really sweet wedding at a cool old historic building. I love love the way these turned out. Wishing this adorable couple a life time of happiness. “Love is composed of a single soul inhabiting two bodies” - Aristotle

The One With the 'Weird Girl'

The title of her book is “Weird Girl with a Tumor,” but, Sierra is a brave young lady and a survivor of a rare brain trauma, Hypothalamic Hamartoma. She wanted to write her story down for others who may be going through the same thing. Her story can be found on Amazon

https://www.amazon.com/Weird-Girl-Tumor-Sierra-Crislip/dp/172935193X/ref=tmm_pap_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=&sr=

I loved taking Sierra’s pictures. It wasn’t hard to capture her radiance and bravery with my camera. She is beautiful inside and out.

The One With the Senior in the "Desert"

Technically Bakersfield, CA is a desert. It’s hot and dry most of the year and during windy days you can see a tumble weed or two blow by. So, when a senior from Bakersfield wanted a “desert” themed session I had just the spot.

This past weekend the weather was perfect, and can I just say…so was this senior am I right!?! I mean he’s just so naturally cool. I couldn’t have asked for a better Senior Session and I love, love, love the way these pictures came out.

I just know this kid is going to do great things. Congratulations to the class of 2019!

The One With the Warm and Hazy Sunset

My recipe for cooking up the perfect family story session includes a secret ingredient… shhh…don’t tell…a perfect sunset with a dash of haze. Dreamy and magical. I love this family and all their silliness. Smiles for days…

The One With All The Balloons

Hot air balloons and gorgeous morning light are a photographers dream. I wish I was more prepared for this experience… maybe next year I’ll dress my kids up a bit and do a photo shoot.

Although the call time was 4AM, it was so worth it to see the Dawn Patrol and then the playing of the National Anthem, followed by the Mass Ascension…breath taking.

The One With a Baby In a Chicken Hat

Yes, you read that right...give me all the babies in chicken hats! So cute.

I just love this sweet session with Baby Grace...isn't she she the cutest!  Everything about this session made me smile, from the baby, to her mama and her brother. Oh, and this location was super dreamy too, they have a lagoon just outside their house.  How neat is that?

The One With My College Roommates

What is better than keeping in contact with your college roommates?  How about still getting together with them just about every year and reminiscing about when you could stay up past 10pm and eat/drink whatever you wanted without regret.  This is was my weekend.

Spending time in the pool, playing card games, and just relaxing with each other was "soul" good, and why not add in some pictures to remember these cherished moments?!

To my dear college roommates: I love that as our families have grown so has our friendships.  It's so sweet to know our children will grow up with each other and form bonds that will last their lifetime. You girls are a blessing.
